The Entrance is located in Lot E across from Powder Mill Pond and
next to the Golf Course. It is a lovely short, easy trail for the whole
Family. Nine numbered stations identify animal tracks, Poison Ivy and
explains Tree Rings and identifies the birds, insects, reptiles and other
mammals you might meet.

||Powder Mill Pond Trail - 3/4 mile - Very interesting but confusing
This lovely trail starts at the Paddle Boat Dock and circles the Powder Mill
This adventurous walk passes a Duck Nesting Place, climbs small hills,
and passes a cove known to hide a Heron. You also pass two Duck Blinds
that beg you to stay awhile and Enjoy. This trail can be a little
confusing with trails that circle in on each other. Children should be with
an Adult. My suggestion is to stay close to the Pond, until your second hike.
Colonial Park offers a winding macadam path for
joggers, walkers, skate boarders and bicyclists, It passes
several ponds, exercise stations, trees filled with
birds, and benches to rest & absorb Nature.
Restrooms: A Real Restroom is located near parking lot F next to
The Horticulturalist's Office. Portable ones are located around Lot C.
Water: Water fountain is located near Parking lot A,
A Fresh Water Fountain near Lot B.
Other: There is a putting course, Picnic Areas,
Paddle Boats, Leash-free dog area and stocked
ponds for anglers. The D&R canal also borders the Park.
